Menu Item Options: Link Display

When customizing ProPhoto menu items, the “Link Display” tab can be used to upload any image or ProPhoto Button of your choice to appear in place of the text link, or next to the text link.

In the menu item popup window, select "Link Display" to upload a graphic

When using plain images for menu links, be sure to use a image that makes sense for each menu item – text will not display unless “text & icon” is chosen.

If you want to create a menu item which uses a graphic with text, use a ProPhoto Button like the example seen above – you can combine text and images in layers to create nearly any appearance you like – even using rollover effects, custom fonts, and more. To select a button you’ve created in the “ProPhoto” > “Customize” > “Buttons” area, click to set an image, and pick the “Choose Button” tab along the top to view your Button creations, as seen here:

After choosing to Set Image, pick "Choose Button" to select a Button

Images appearing shrunk? The menu font size also controls the max height for images, so increase the menu font size to achieve larger menu item images – font size controls can be found in each menu settings area of ProPhoto.

Be sure to use an obvious graphic for menu items – text will not display unless “text & icon” is selected.

Most users will use an image software like Photoshop to add text to their graphics (like the example above) to communicate each link’s purpose.
