Navigation Menus

The primary, secondary, and vertical menus of your ProPhoto site appear as horizontal navigation menus in the header area of your site, or as a vertical list of menu links in any widget area. To customize these menus, go to “ProPhoto” > “Customize” > “Menus”. The area near the top of the screen is where you add, delete, edit, and arrange the items in your menu.

Add, Delete, and Organize

To add a new menu item, click the “Add new menu item…” button.  Your new menu item will appear on the left side of the menu. Next, click the edit ‘gear’ icon while hovering over the new menu item to begin customizing it. To delete a menu item, click on the delete icon visible when hovering your cursor.

Remember, you have to actually create your post, page, or gallery content before you can link to those items from the menu.

Individual items can be organized by dragging and droppingCustom drop-downs can be created by dragging items into other items.

Style and Appearance

Horizontal Navigation menus can have a background color or graphic applied for a customized appearance. Vertical and Horizontal menu link items can be created using styled text with uploaded graphics/buttons or both.  Check out the “link display”  tutorial to learn how to use an image or button as a menu item. Alignment can be changed or even ‘split’ left/right. Menu items can even be set to hide on certain page types of your site or blog, and with all these customization options, you’re likely to create just the menu you need to direct visitors right to the content they’re looking for on your site.
